Žaneta Gelevska Veljanovska -Žani (b. 1966, Kumanovo) is a Macedonian artist who lives and works as a full-time freelance artist between Skopje and London, UK. A graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts in Skopje, she relocated to England following her invitation to exhibit at the prestigious Blains Fine Art Gallery in Mayfair, London (1999). She has been a member of DLUM since 1989.
Žani is known for her distinctive techique, a unique blend of acrylic and mixed media utilizing a range of unusual materials, which lend her paintings powerful strength and spontaneity. Her work, inspired by everyday life, explores the relationship between public and private space.
She has held numerous exhibitions in over 15 countries worldwide, and a permanent exhibition of her work is displayed at the Macedonian Embassy in London. She is the recipient of several awards, including the “Petar Mazev” Award (1994).
