Niche Vasilev
Born in 1948 in the village of Davbilja, Strumica. He completed his primary education in his hometown and the School of Applied Arts in Skopje in 1969. In 1970/71 continued his studies at the National Academy of Fine Arts in Sofia, Republic of Bulgaria. In 1974 he continued his studies in Warsaw, Poland, at the Academy of Fine Arts – Painting Department, in the class of Prof. Ludwig Machong. In 1980, he became a member of DLUM. In his rich artistic career, he has received several awards and recognitions, such as: – Redemption Award at the 17th April Salon in Doboj 1974 (BiH), the Fine Arts Award in Warsaw 1976; Redemption Award – Yugoslav Portrait, Tuzla 1987 (BiH); The “Dimitar Pandilov“ Award at DLUM 2000 and 2008; The “Metodija Ivanovski-Mende“ Award, KIC Skopje, 2000. The award – the highest municipal recognition of Strumica for contribution in the field of culture – was received in 2004. The award of “Osten“, a world gallery of drawing, a biennial of drawing was received in 2012.

In his artistic activity so far, Niče Vasilev has realized over 29 individual exhibitions, starting from 1977. He exhibited in Warsaw, Madrid, Skopje, Kranj, Shtip, Sofia, Bitola, Strumica, Shedlice – Poland, Ankara, Veles, Shtum-Barlowice – Poland, Gevgelija. Gruec, Poland
