Nikola Ivanov-Balton (1948–2012) was a prominent Macedonian academic painter and art figure. Born in Štip in 1948, he graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Skopje, studying in the class of Professor Petar Mazev.
While painting held a dominant place in his creative output, he also actively engaged with other artistic mediums, creating significant works in stained glass and mosaic techniques. Ivanov-Balton held numerous solo and group exhibitions both domestically and internationally (including Belgrade, Paris, New York, and Sofia) and was the recipient of several awards. Beyond his creative work, he played a crucial organizational role in the Macedonian art community, serving as the General Secretary of the Association of Artists of Macedonia (DLUM). He passed away in Dojran in 2012.
