Vernon W. Jones is a Welsh artist specializing in marine art and landscapes, who divides his time and practice between Wales and North Macedonia.
He began his career focused on portraiture and illustrative works before dedicating himself to maritime art in 2003. Since 2005, he has focused on open sea vistas, combining realism and expressionism in his approach. He works in both oil and acrylics (a medium change adopted in 2013), often utilizing the Alla Prima technique. His works are exhibited internationally and are acclaimed for their precision, detail, movement, and drama, aiming to convey the ultimate essence and greatness of the sea.
Alongside the Seascape Art Vernon also creates many other artworks including Landscape and sometimes quite experimental and interesting creations. These can be of a textural and expressive nature sometimes in mixed media for a variety of subject matter on canvas and panel.
